Walking Dead and all things Zombie

The new season of Walking Dead started back a few weeks ago on AMC. So far, I am not disappointed, however I am really hoping it lasts more than six episodes, but I have a feeling each season will be six episodes. Now, normally I wouldn’t complain about a six episode season, but six episodes just isn’t enough to hold me over for a full year, and I am sure I am not the only one. To be honest, I almost forgot about the show.

However, in the end, I am going to enjoy whatever AMC decides to give me. Six episodes or more. Although I am totally going to hope for more. Just sayin’.

I do admit though, this Zombie craze is getting out of hand though. Don’t get me wrong, I fucking love zombies! I was loving Zombies long before it was cool to love them! However, there can be too much of a good thing. So, how do I know Zombie Love has reached that stage of “Too much of a good thing”? Well, my first clue was when Zombies started turning up in Call of Duty Games, and then when more zombie games than I could count started appearing on shelves. Most recently when comics started having The Crew of the Enterprise battle hordes of the undead.

However, what really made me shake my head and say “Enough is enough!” is when a local furniture store had a commercial featuring Zombies, who apparently were really sleepy after a hard day of brain sucking, and needed to buy some beds…I think.

So, bottom line, keep the zombie stuff flowing, I love it! However, slow it down a little.

Season Finale already?!

After watching last nights episode of The Walking Dead on AMC, I did something that I normally don’t do. I watched the “Next week on…” section, and was disappointed to hear them say “Next week, on the season Finale of The Walking Dead”. Season Finale? Already?

What the hell?

How can this show be having a season finale already? It’s only been on for 6 episodes! The show has been doing well in ratings, but with the show only lasting 6 episodes before going to season finale, I have a feeling, that when the show comes back for a second season, it won’t do as well as it has been doing.

Why do I think this? Well, to begin with, I don’t think the show has picked up enough steam in just 6 episodes, to manage to stick in the minds of its viewers over the course of a season break. It’s just six episodes, and no matter how good a show is, 6 episodes just won’t cut it!

Hell, even during that writers strike not too long ago, many popular shows suffered a huge drop in ratings, because they were only able to get out about 11 episodes for the season, and that’s almost double what Walking Dead will have.

Honestly, I hope I am wrong, because I love the show, and would love to see it continue for 20 seasons! Hopefully, it did manage to build up enough steam in that short amount of time to keep the interest alive.

Walking Dead on AMC

I hope everyone had a wonderful, enjoyable and most importantly, a safe Halloween!

As for my Halloween? Nothing fancy, but it was enjoyable! I handed out Candy and watched a little TV. In fact, I watched the new series Walking Dead on AMC! Did you miss it? Shame on you!

It’s an excellent show, and I am not just saying that because I am a zombie junkie! It really is quite enjoyable! Granted, it’s only been on for one episode, but it’s still an incredible series, which happens to be based off of an incredible comic book series of the same name.

One thing I want to mention here; is that the series, so far anyway, has remained faithful to the comics, while still keeping things fresh and interesting. If you are a walking dead comic fan, a zombie fan, or even just a lover of horror in general, this is a series you don’t want to miss out on!

The Walking Dead TV series!

A new Television series is getting ready to come on the air. The TV show is called “The Walking Dead“, and as I am sure you were able to figure out, it is a show dealing with the zombie apocolypse! Not the zombie aspect of it mind you, but from the survivors perspective.

Now, if you are anything like me, then the title of this new series may sound familiar to you. Which it should, because it’s based on a Black & White comic book published by Image Comics, of the same name.

Personally, I loved the comic! It was one of my favorite comic book series. In fact, it ranked right up there with 100 bullets, Y: The last man, Preacher and Punisher. Yea, it’s just that good!

Enough about the comic though, the point is the new series! Now, the series is on AMC, which did come as a surprise to me, becase I honestly did not even know AMC made TV shows! Apprently however they do, and this new series is one of them.

So when is this show set to air? I will give you a clue. Sometime in the month of October. Right! You guessed it! Halloween, october 31st! Having it start on Halloween, considering the premise, is a great idea! Although, if you live in a house that get’s a lot of trick-or-teaters, then you might find yourself missing a lot as you get up and down to answer the door.

Will the show last and become a huge hit? Well, I really do hope so! However, I doubt it will last and/or become a TV hit. Why? Well, it’s on AMC! People don’t normally go scanning AMC for new Fall TV shows to watch! Perhaps though they should start? I know from now on AMC is getting checked by me for new shows!
