Cover of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

Back in the 80’s they released a movie about teenage time travelers. No, I am not talking about back to the future! I am referring to Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure, which starred Keanu Reeves in one of his earlier roles. Unlike the DeLorean from back to the future, Bill & Ted used a phone booth, kinda like the TARDIS but nowhere near as cool looking, and definitely not as roomy.

The movie centered around 2 highschool losers, who needed to pass a history test so they could perform at a music event. To ensure this happened, a Time traveler came back in his phone booth, and took the kids out on a journey through time. All so they could pass their history test. The premise sounds extremely stupid, I agree. However, the movie developed quite a large cult following, and even spawned a sequel, as well as a comic book series, An animated series, as well as a short-lived television series despite the films sheer stupidity.

That was then, and thankfully the world moved on. Bill & Ted is perhaps the worst film franchise in the history of bad film franchises. It basically, is a film better left to rot in the past. Forgotten for all eternity. Will that happen though? Hell no! Apparently, they are in development of Bill & Ted 3. Seriously, a third film after this long? It’s not even a reboot, it’s part three! They actually want to continue the so-called story, and not just recreate it to make it less lame.

The Fall Guy

When I was just a wee little tyke, I would stay up late at night sometimes and watch old TV show reruns. I remember, one of my favorite of these old shows was called “The Fall Guy” and starred Lee majors. I remember when it would come on, I would build a little tent out of my pillows and blankets, and watch it in big eyed amazement.

Now, I am not sure how many of you are familiar with the show, but it’s about a hollywood stuntman, who is also a part-time bounty hunter, and he uses his hollywood skills in his night job. It was also in the 80’s and anyone who’s familiar with action shows of the 80’s know that they are chock full of explosions. Fall guy was no different!

Last night, I noticed that one of our local stations was airing old re-runs of The Fall Guy! I haven’t seen the show in years, and was anxious to see it again. So, I tuned in and began watching. Unfortunately, about 10 mins into the show, it dawned on me, that the show kinda sucks! It wasn’t as good as I remember. Perhaps my tastes have changed? I don’t know, but for whatever reason, it lost its magic.

You know what? On second thought, maybe it was just because I was missing my make shift tent!

So, I was sitting here, trying to decide on an MMO to try that I haven’t yet tried. After careful consideration I decided to give the game called APB a shot. I looked around at my favorite online stores, and couldn’t find it anywhere! I knew something was up, because it’s not like I could be misspelling the name.

After digging around, I decide to try to find the games website, assuming that maybe the game for some reason is only available for purchase through their store. To my amazement, their website was also gone! Curiouser and curiouser I thought.

After even more hunting around the internet, I discovered that APB had closed it’s doors! That’s right, the game had shut down. Now, the fact that it shut down isn’t the odd part. I mean, MMOs do have a habit of shutting down, especially the way the economy is these days. What is surprising however is how quickly the game closed down! After only being open for 3 months, they decided to call it quits.

You read that right! Three Months! APB now as far as I know, has the distinction of being the shortest lived MMO in gaming history, so congratulations on that!

I guess I will just have to stick to GTA IV in free roam mode.

Ok, so ever since my post where I made fun of Li’l Wayne and how he dressed, I have gotten a LOT of death threats from barely literate Blog readers. However, I have also got a number of E-Mails complaining about me making fun of someone and hiding what I look like behind the safety of my monitor. These E-Mails have a valid point. I should CLEARLY be equally judged by who I am and what I look like, so without further ado, I have decided to unveil myself to my Blogging audience! That’s right! You will bare witness to the Man, the Myth, The frickin’ Legend that is Shaide!

Woah though! Don’t start holding your breath now. I’m not unveiling it TODAY! Nope! However, my next post? It will have my picture in it. Why? Because this gives you the time needed to come up with good insults, to try and make me cry so you can post something clever and witty that basically translates to “Oh, you can dish it, but can’t take it huh? Boo-hoo-hoo!”

lulzThe Internet is full of people spouting “Geek words”. Everything from Lawl to n00bz. One of the most annoying words, and one i have been hearing a LOT of lately is the word Lulz. Whats this even mean you ask? Well, it means to laugh. apparently its “LOL” evolved…or should I say devolved.

Why is the word so popular, well, like most of these ridiculous words, its popular because of the Internet phenomenon known as “LoLCats”. Not sure what this is? well, basically someone takes a cute picture of a kitty-cat, and sticks a big white caption on it to make the cat look retarded. while the captions can be amusing, most times they just induce long moments of eye rolling. The captions are usually something stupid(Such as the “I detect Lulz” on a robot.)and spelled extremely badly…or using geekspeak(Or as its called mostly these days kittyspeak).
