Jennifer Aniston

Well, as I am sure many of your are probably aware, the media has stopped harping about Mel Gibson, or at least slowed down for a small while. Of course, that also means that the media has found something else to dig their nails into. Now, they have jumped on the celebrity bashing bandwagon with “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston.

Apparently while on Regis and Kelly, she used the “R-word”. Now, for those of you not in the know “R-word” means Retard. Apparently it’s very politically incorrect, and really shouldn’t be used. So, because she referred to herself as a retard, everyone just feels the need to jump down her throat. Forget the fact that until quite recently “Retard” was perfectly acceptable. It’s not even like she called anyone but herself a retard! Hell, Comedians say Retard on a daily basis, but nobody jumps down their throat!

You know what really irks me? People who are moaning and complaining about what she said are hypocrites! Seriously, I am willing to bet the majority of them has said something that a group of people find offensive, yet they have the nerve to rant and rave about what someone else said without thinking? Get over yourself people!

This whole Politically correct crap is just really getting out of hand. I mean seriously! You know what? I as of now find the word “fat” offensive! That’s right, it should now be referred to as the “Other F-word”. From now on I wish to be called Proportionately challenged American.

People make a lot of assumptions about me, because I live in California. Some of those assumptions are that I live on a beach, ama surfer dude, Enjoy constant beautiful weather, and am totally unphased when it comes to earthquakes. I will tell you right now, all of that is false!

I don’t live near the beach! In fact, I live in a desert. I couldn’t even tell you how far the closest beach is to me. In fact, chances are, anyone reading this blog entry is probably closer to a beach than I am! That also pretty much shoots down the Surfer dude theory huh?

Now, about the weather being perfect? Let me repeat once more: I live in a desert. There is no perfect weather, It’s either too hot, and in the triple digits, or too cold and below 0. Although, if truth be told, I prefer the “Too cold” part over the “Too Hot” one. Actually, I like the freezing temp part of desert life. The colder the better!

Lastly, when it comes to earthquakes, I don’t think many people are unphased. Sure, some are bothered by them more than others. However, when it’s all said and done, people know that no good can come from an earthquake. Even the smallest quake can take a life. A small tremor could cause someone to stumble and hit their head and die. All quakes, no matter how large or how small, are life threatening. So, am I bothered by earthquakes? You bet your sweet bippy, and to be honest, I would be worried about anyone who wasn’t bothered by quakes!

That being said however, there are many worse things in this world than earthquakes. I mean, let’s face it! I would rather face an earthquake than deal with a Tornado, Volcanic eruption, Hurricane or tsunami! Compared to most places, California has it easy in terms of natural disasters.

For those who might be interested, my blog has a new address. The URL is http://www.shaideblog.com. Yea, the URL you are on right now! Don’t worry about updating the URL in links or bookmarks, since the old wordpress.com web address will automatically forward here. So, you are all set!

Why did I choose such a cornball domain? Well, my online screen name is Shaide, and shaide.com was already taken.

One thing you should know about me, is that I have been blogging for a VERY long time. This isn’t my first blog. In fact, I was blogging before the term “Blogging” was even used. Hell, back then there wasn’t even any of these fancy smancy content manager scripts like they have now. I had to update everything by hand by editing the HTML pages.

My first “Blog” was actually pretty much just a daily rant about any and everything. It was called “Timovision: The world through my eyes”. I did end up abandoning it though, because a game came out called “The Realm Online” and in case you weren’t aware, The Realm Online was the grandpappy of MMORPGs. It was one of, if not THE first of it’s kind. About a year after it came out, Ultima Online popped it’s head up, followed by Everquest. At anyrate, I was hooked on MMORPGs for awhile.

During my MMORPG gaming period, I ended up with the screen name Shaide. So, when I decided to reopen my blog, I got the domain Shaide.com and blogged for several years. However when my wife passed away, I ended up ignoring my blog, the domain expired and got bought up by one of those stupid search engines that go around buying up expired domains. So, obviously Shaide.com was no longer an option.

So I settled for shaideblog.com after many days of trying to come up with a domain name.
