SNL: The unwatched?

Does anyone actually still look forward to watching SNL? I mean, I know people watch it. There’s people in the audience, and even I watch it occasionally, but do people actually look forward to it coming on? Would you miss it if it were gone?

It seems like the show has gone severely downhill lately, and this season is no exception. The only reason I even still watch it, is because it’s on late at night and nothing else is on, because I have seen all the current Infomercials that tend to plague and clog the latenight cable lines. I however do NOT look forward to the show, and quite honestly, it’s been awhile since I have looked forward to it.

Back in the day I remember busting a gut laughing at skits and jokes. Now? I’m lucky if I chuckle once. I don’t even expect to laugh at the skits anymore. I’m more interested in seeing people slip up on their lines and spouting profanities on the air live. Now that’s more entertaining than the show is.

Left 4 Dead DLC

Recently some new Downloadable Content became available on Xbox Live for what is one of my favorite games. The game is called Left 4 Dead, and as most of you know, it takes place during a Zombie apocalypse. You play one of 4 survivors and try to make your way to safety, blowing the heads off of any infected who come running at you. You can also play online with others as either a group of survivors, or a horde of flesh eating infected zombies.

So, anyway they recently released a couple new DLC items. Originally left4dead only had 2 of the 4 campaigns available in the online play modes. However in one DLC they unlocked the other 2. Which means more online playability which means more Yayness for me! On top of that, they also released a new campaign! Granted, the campaign is only 2 levels and is VERY short, but who’s going to complain? It’s more added zombie slaying goodness!

Needless to say these 2 DLC items has more than renewed my interest in Left 4 Dead, in fact I can’t bloody well stop playing!

New look?

Ok, i changed the look of the blog a bit.

The reason for the new look is because I thought it was pretty much time for a change. I mean, I have had the old look for several years now, and while it was very sleek and classy, it just wasn’t me. Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you the 2 things that I most definately am not, is sleek or classy.

I feel this current look of the blog reflects who I am more so than the other. Plus, the header has pictures of me from different eras…kinda like a timeline showing How I have grown from a fairly normal kid into the weird monstrosity who exists today…My god! What the hell happened???

Columbus day? Bah humbug!

Columbus day I firmly believe to be the stupidest holiday in existance.definately not worth having no mail delivered either. The guy sailed around the boat, failed to find a shorter route to the far east like he planned. He didn’t even discover America for gods sake. The what discovered by a Chinese Muslim adimiral named  Cheng Ho.

Although in all fairness most children are taught that Columbus discovered America, and that Custer was a brave hero(As opposed to the insane bad guy that he really was). So, let’s for a moment pretend that what schools teach are children is correct, even though we all as adults know that half the crap our schools teach us is not accurate.

Ok! So, Columbus “Discovered” America. How can you discover something when people are already living there? You can’t discover that any more than I can say “Yes, I discovered Pizza Hut when I went there the first time in my life”. I obviously cant claim that, because people are eating there and working there…it’s been discovered clearly. Now, using that logic on America. How can Cheng Ho, Amerigo or Columbus claim to have discovered it? There were people living there and eating there! THEY discovered it AGES ago when their tribes were settled there…you know, before the land masses broke up.

So, taking that all into consideration, why am I not getting mail? Why is Columbus so damn special that he can keep me from getting my netflix movies on a monday? Why? Is it because he got lost? He’s a guy! Guys get lost all the time, i doubt he was the first guy who got lost. Maybe because he got lost on a boat?

Don’t get me wrong, im sure Columbus did something to warrant a holiday in some peoples eyes, but i promise you, no matter WHAT he did, I do not believe it warrants a holiday. Hell, I even disagree with having thanksgiving as a holiday and Labor day, so whatever.
