Fav show of the season?

One of my favorite TV shows this season is a returning series, and while I have enjoyed past seasons it never ranked as my “Favorite show of the season”. The show is called “Supernatural“, perhaps you have heard of it? It’s a show that can be found on the CW, and its always been a fantastic series. Although this season, has got to be the best season to date. It has twists and turns, you don’t know who’s good or bad..and quite frankly, anything can happen.

Another thing I love about Supernatural this season is the fact that it’s gotten a little more humor this year. Not to the point where it’s redonkulous, but where you get some nice laughs in appropriate places. One of the funniest moments this season was where Dean(Played by Jensen Ackles) lip synched “Eye of the Tiger” after the credits. You can view it here thanks to the power of youtube.

Zombie blastin’ goodness

Valve is releasing what i believe to be one spiffy game! The game is called Left 4 Dead and it does involve zombies. As an added bonus, these aren’t your slow moving zombies…heck no! These are the Super-fast-moving-zombies-that-travel-in-giant groups kinda zombies…….but with a twist! See? The zombies are changing. Some are getting abilities…Everything from sploding goop onto people and attracting masses of zombies..To throwing out a long grabber thing and wrapping around the prey and dragging you to it….and if you’re the unfortunate survivor that falls prey to one of these “Super-Zombies” then you are going to need the help of your fellow survivors t get free…Did I mention this was an on-line Co-op game?

Yep! You go online, and help your fellow survivors escape the city. You play one of 4 characters, and blast a trail through brain-eating zombies until you get to a safe spot…then, you rest up, gear up and move on. your survivor buddies will rely on your bullets, and your aid in patching them up, just as you will rely on them. After all, its a “Help or be eatin’” world out there now!

Not a fan of playing with others? Dont like going online? No worries, yo can alway play offline in solo mode with computer controlled allies. This in some ways is more efficient yet in other ways its more hassle..Solo mode you don’t have your allies running off ahead leaving you to get pulled to your death by a zombie group, and if something goes screwy…well, you only have yourself to blame….on the down side, the NPCs aren’t very bright, and in many cases you will be doing most of the intelligent stuff. Sometimes its easier haing quick thinking pawns…errr..people doing the hard stuff while you stand back and…erm…guard the back position.

The demo was released both on PC [STEAM] as well as XBOX Live, since it’s going to be released for BOTH the Xbox360 and the PC as well, so whichever is your gaming platform of choice, you can get it. I personally have yet to decide which gaming platform im going to go with. On the Xbox 360 its obviously going to run just as smooth on your system, as it does someone elses…HOWEVER on the PC, there likely going to be MODs and expansions. (Kinda like the zombie mod that was released for halflife 2…god, i wish that was available as down loadable content on the Xbox live service!)….The choices, the choices….

Zombies in the Sewers

It sounds like something out of a Hollywood blockbuster.

But staff at a sewage works have called in a ghostbuster because they are being stalked by a zombie-like figure who roams the underground tunnels.

Workers at Southern Water’s treatment plant in Eastbourne, East Sussex, said they have been scared to enter tunnels after being followed about by a “humanoid figure” as they went about their jobs.

Mark Wey, a sewage treatment worker, got permission from his bosses to hire a paranormal investigator to launch an investigation into the sewage spirits.

Mr Wey hired parapsychologist Michael Kingscote who paid the tunnels a visit.

The clairvoyant said: “There seems to be one particular area that’s giving people the creeps. People have seen and felt things.”

Mr Wey said: “Michael instantly detected someone standing there and he was suspicious there was something quite unusual there.

“The conclusion is, we can’t prove it is haunted because of strong electromagnetic fields, which can cause the illusion of being haunted, the feeling of being touched or watched, but there is definitely paranormal activity.

“People feel uneasy when they enter the building and the hairs on the back of your neck go up.

“A lot of people don’t like going in there. You can hear voices in the tunnels.”

Mr Wey said the figure, which followed workers about often laughed at them and staff could hear “muffled conversations” coming from behind the tunnel walls.

Another worker said: “I believe in ghosts and I’m sure there’s something in there. I dread doing the night shift.

“It’s not funny going to work and worrying that a zombie might be around the corner.”

A Southern Water spokesman said: “Mr Wey has a personal interest in the afterlife and found our underground site at Eastbourne somewhat spooky.

“We hope the findings weren’t too frightening.”

Wonderwall??

Im not sure if I have mentioned this before, but I do like this song called “Wonderwall” by Oasis, I even posted the lyrics here on my blog once upon a time. It’s a really good song. However that isn’t the point of this entry.

What I am writing about is the cover of the song by Ryan Adams. I’m not sure how old this cover is, but I just recently heard it. I think it sucks! Quite honestly…It’s way to friggen slow. I mean, the song makes me want to fall asleep, where as the original made me bop my head like a chicken!

However that’s just my two cents. I could be wrong..It happens more than I care to admit. It’s moments like this, that I wish people would just come up with their own songs, and stop getting other peoples so they can butcher….If it ain’t broken don’t fix it! It’s a pretty easy concept. Learn it, live it, DO it.

One ring to rule them all

Lord of the rings Online is a great game. In fact, it’s one of my favorite MMORPGs to date. It’s got some good voice acting, epic storylines, and most importantly it takes place in a world that I am familiar with. Even when I was just starting out, I didn’t feel like a TOTAL noob. Some of the characters were familiar, The locations, the background storyline and even some of the monsters. Though i was new to the game, i still had a basic idea of what was happening, and was able to thrust myself into my character a lot more easily, than say if it was an unfamiliar setting that i had to learn every single thing about.

Anyway, so I have been trying to get my friends from Secondlife to play LOTRO as well. Why? because as good as Secondlife is, it does get boring after awhile, and im at that point, where the games a bit boring. The only reason i continue to log in, is because of my friends. If not for them, i would probably have abandoned Secondlife months ago. So, it would be nice if they were as interested in lotro as they are in SecondLife.

While on the subject of LOTRO, I purchased the expansion pack “Mines of Moria” advance order just last night, and im still not exactly sure why. my highest level character isn’t even 30 yet, so reall..the expansion pack won’t really benefit me for awhile. I have had that character for over a year….Thing is i don’t play as much as I would like to….so it’s not fast leveling. That being said, it will probably be another year before I even see any benefit from the expansion pack…but at least I get a spiffy title and (Hopefully) spiffy cloak.

Gaming Consoles

I plan on purchasing a second gaming console, although I already own an Xbox 360, i would like one of the other 2 as well, so i figured i would let the voters choose the next system. I kept the xbox 360 in the polls, because it wouldn’t be fair to leave it out of the battle…so, if the xbox gets the number 1 spot, ill pick the second one.

Lulz?

The Internet is full of people spouting “Geek words”. Everything from Lawl to n00bz. One of the most annoying words, and one i have been hearing a LOT of lately is the word Lulz. Whats this even mean you ask? Well, it means to laugh. apparently its “LOL” evolved…or should I say devolved.

Why is the word so popular, well, like most of these ridiculous words, its popular because of the Internet phenomenon known as “LoLCats”. Not sure what this is? well, basically someone takes a cute picture of a kitty-cat, and sticks a big white caption on it to make the cat look retarded. while the captions can be amusing, most times they just induce long moments of eye rolling. The captions are usually something stupid(Such as the “I detect Lulz” on a robot.)and spelled extremely badly…or using geekspeak(Or as its called mostly these days kittyspeak).

Mr. President

Well, most people are already fully aware of the election results. In some places fireworks were launched, other cities people we dancing and yelling in the streets, all celebrating the election results which announced Obama as our next President. The man who will lead us into the future and beyond!

I however was not dancing in the streets or firing off fireworks in a celebration of noise. Nor however was I shaking my head in total disbelief that McCain lost the election yet again(For those of you keeping score, this is McCains second loss…Hey, third times the charm!).

You see, quite honestly I didn’t care for either of the candidates. Don’t get me wrong. Im not saying they are horrible. As a matter of fact, either of them will be able to out perform Bush, and frankly im just thrilled to get ol’ dubbya out of fricken office…

Another thing that bugged me about the two candidates was the fact that they were using those damn robo calls! I hate being called by robots..and i was getting enough calls to make me just stop answering the phone…Also this was a particularly dirty campaign on both sides. especially their supporters..I mean, beating your self up and claiming a supporter of obama did it to you? Whats wrong with you people?!

Personally, I would have preferred to have Hillary in office, rather than Obama or McCain….Thats just my opinion..I think she could have done a lot for the country(I mean, she did last time she was in office when she was puppeteering good ol’ Bill).

Although after giving this some thought, perhaps i SHOULD have been dancing in the streets…I mean, the campaign is finally over! TV viewing will go back to normal, real news will be shown on CNN instead of political information..and most importantly, Bush will be hitting the road….
